This person will be part of a team that is comprised of systems administrators for a 24x7 e-commerce environment. The Senior System Administrator role is part of the Global Infrastructure Operations group that has responsibility for the following technologies: Linux systems, web technologies, batch processing, security operations, backups, application deployments, server engineering, and server administration. Responsibility: • Deploy new server environments running Linux platforms following ECS standards and practices. Implement applications and services as needed to support the business. • Administer Infrastructure related tools such as Apache, Tomcat, Puppet, Zabbix, F5 Load Balancers, Backups, Antivirus, etc. • Manage virtualized environments utilizing platforms such as VMware ESX • Manage security related initiatives (PCI) and implement solutions for all audit findings • Implement disaster recovery strategies for all assigned projects • Perform web sites and application failovers between data centers on a regular basis for testing and validation. • Perform capacity planning and provide recommendations to enhance performance. • Diagnosis and resolves advanced system performance, communication, and throughput problems. Manages vendor personnel when escalation is required. • Engineer, develop, and implement various Enterprise Level Solutions running on Linux RHEL 6.x. • Utilize multiple server hardware platforms (Dell, HP, and Cisco) and create/update OS base images for each platform. • Implement automation as needed to increase operational efficiencies • Complete application deployments to production and pre-production utilizing tools such as Blade Logic and puppet. • Responsible for level 2 on-call escalation (including after hours) and performs troubleshooting for all critical situation events. • Interviews end users to understand current performance issues and future demands to make recommendations for infrastructure enhancements • Perform role of technical lead on projects such as data center build outs or migrations • Person is expected to be a “hands on” implementer for assigned projects and tasks • Monitor infrastructure incident queue requests and complete tickets within pre-defined SLAs. • Works on problems of diverse scope and will create clearly documented recommendations to achieve resolution. • Mentors and cross trains other system administrators and engineers within data center operations • Complete weekly and monthly status reports to management that outlines what work has been accomplished and what work is planned for the upcoming future. • Create, manage, and execute production change requests related to all infrastructure enhancements *Job Requirements:* Skills Required: • Strong Understanding of Redhat Linux (6.x) • Strong Knowledge of apache, tomcat, and jboss • Good knowledge of Veritas Netbackup or alternative backup products • Strong understanding of server imaging and build practices • Strong knowledge of server virtualization platforms • Strong knowledge of a specific area within Infrastructure • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visio applications • Good knowledge of load balancing using F5 Big IP • Good knowledge of internetworking technologies • Good knowledge of Dell and HP hardware platforms • Good leadership & analytical skills • Strong oral and written communication skills • Strong inter-personal and customer service skills • Strong organizational skills • Ability to multi-task between multiple projects and operational requests • Self-starter that takes pride in the quality and timeliness of work they perform • Must work well with others as part of larger team • Able to work independently on a variety of assigned tasks • Must be available and willing to work extended and/or alternative hours as needed for roll-outs, system upgrades, etc. • Provide On-Call support during off hours • Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years being in a “hand’s on” technical engineering or administration position. • Prefer Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field • History of working in an e-commerce and fast paced environment Skills Preferred but Not Required: Windows Server Technology *Click here to view full job descripton and apply*<http://ejobsville.com/display-job/9688/> (Guest users can also apply) ------------------------------ Best regards, eJobsVille.com - For The Best Tech Jobs In Town -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
