*Job Description***
Works collaboratively on an agile team with other developers, business
analysts, testers, technical / solution architect and scrum masters.
Develops technical solutions to business problems and work collaboratively
with the business to determine how best to implement new requests.
Develops, maintains dynamic object oriented eCommerce application code with
a strong emphasis on J2EE architectures and patterns.
Participates in Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and
Retrospective meetings.
Designs, develops, and unit tests product extensions, interfaces,
applications and data conversion modules for reliability, scalability,
manageability, performance and re-use.
Creates design documents supporting the agile development process.
Contributes to reduction of technical debt through code refactoring,
re-architecture & design.
Participates in the overall solution testing as needed.
Acts as subject matter expert on areas of the application and provides
support as necessary.
Reports status of work to the agile team and quickly escalates to the Scrum
Master when impediments are faced.
Continuously learns new skills and share / apply new learnings with the
rest of the team.
Identifies opportunities to simplify application and break new requests
into minimal working parts.
Reports time and expenses accurately and on-time.
Demonstrates flexibility and ability to work with a globally distributed
team.

Achieves detailed understanding of the Sterling Commerce product framework
and services methodology and apply within customer implementation projects.
Configures Sterling Commerce products to meet customer’s business needs.
Understanding of popular design patterns

*Technical Skills*
A minimum of 5+ years software engineering development experience,
5 years of which are Java/J2ee specific, is required.
Unit Testing and Test Skills experience: Junit, Jmeter, etc
Expert experience in other Java technologies including Servlets
2.3, Struts 1.3/2.0,JSP 2.0, JDBC, Core Java, Struts/Tiles, Swing and other
J2EE technologies; and familiarity with XML, XSD, and XSL. Other object
oriented design experience, experience applying design patterns and UML
familiarity is essential.
Experience with XML and Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC, etc),
Application server experience (WebLogic), and Configuration
Management/source control tools (Git).
Conversant with front-end technologies - Object-Oriented
JavaScript, AJAX, XHTML, HTML, CSS, JSON, XML/DOM.
Capable of designing the CSS library for web applications.
Good working experience with standard JS frameworks like Jquery
and Ext JS.
Familiarity with queuing systems (e.g. MQ Series, JMS, Oracle
11.01 etc.)
RDBMS Oracle strongly preferred.
Significant prior Agile/Scrum experience and Agile tools (i.e.,
Greenhopper, etc) is desired.
