I need an *AIX Engineer IMMEDIATELY* for my client in *NYC*. ## Job Description The AIX Administrator is responsible for evaluating, implementing, and administering the server infrastructure for the IBM P-Server Platform. Requirements: B.S or B.A. degree is preferred Experience: • In depth knowledge and experience working with AIX operating system, version 5 through 7. • Understanding and experience working with IBM Power 7 servers and PowerVM • Experience using NIM server for AIX • Experience using multi-pathing software for AIX, such as MPIO or EMC PowerPath • Understanding and experience in building LPARS, using logical partition mobility, and using VIO servers in virtualizing servers, network and storage (NPIV) • Understanding and experience configuring and supporting IBM clustering products PowerHA (formerly HCMP) and GPFS. • Knowledge of backup/recovery using IBM TSM Tivoli Storage Manager and/or Symantec NetBackup. • Experience working with virtual tape libraries as well as physical tape libraries • EMC storage administration experience is preferred • Familiarity with SAP is a plus • Must possess a very high technical aptitude • Must be an outstanding team player • Must possess superior analytical and trouble-shooting skills • Must have a sense of urgency in meeting project and task deadlines and in resolving production issues • Strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory • Superior organizational skills and work methods are necessary for this position • Must demonstrate initiative and be a self-starter • Must be innovative in developing server solutions • Must have a thorough understanding of change management concepts • Certifications in the areas of IBM AIX, IBM Server Hardware, IBM Clustering, Linux is desirable • ITIL V.3 certification preferred Minimum of 5 years experience working with IBM P-Series and IBM AIX Minimum of 2 years experience working with Linux in a production environment Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
