Job Description:*Role: Senior System Engineer *
*Duration: 6+ Months*

*Descriptions:*
This requisition is for a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Systems
Engineering department within CNS Systems Engineering. This engineer will
engage in systems activities associated with placing SATCOM systems with
associated cabin and cockpit connectivity onto aircraft. This Senior
Systems Engineer will report directly to a Systems Group Manager. The
successful applicant must be able to multitask across a number of projects
running in parallel.
*The successful candidate will:*
- Have general domain knowledge of avionics products and systems.
- Have knowledge and experience in some or all of the following
interfaces and protocols:
- *SATCOM* related interfaces and protocols
- CEPT-1 multiplexed voice
- 2/4 Wire POTS, Individual voice channel
- ARINC 429, ARINC 741, ARINC 761, ARINC 781
- ISDN
- Ethernet and AFDX
- PPPoE
- TCP/IP
- AT command
- SNMP
- 3GPP
Knowledge and experience of the above within the context of SATCOM, Cabin
Telephony Units (CTU) and other related aircraft systems is a plus.
- Have knowledge and experience in some or all of the following
technical areas:
- Ethernet routing (COTS routers and other more complex systems)
- PBX
- Video streaming
- PICO Cells
- Has knowledge and experience in customer data applications such as:
- Web browsing
- Mobile text messaging, i.e., SMS, IM
- Mobile multimedia, i.e., MMS
- Have previous experience integrating and testing highly technical
electronics systems in a laboratory/test environment.
- Be capable of supporting and providing major contributions to system
architectural decisions involving SATCOM and associated connectivity
solutions.
- Be capable of supporting and providing major contributions to: the
capture and management of requirements, to the design process, and
test/system integration.
- Be capable of making decisions that may have a significant impact on
cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Be capable of recommending new tools and techniques to achieve
continuous improvement in systems development processes.
- Act as a mentor to engineers in areas of domain knowledge and lessons
learned.

*Min Requirements:*
- The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in an
applicable engineering or science field, and eight years of related
experience, or, in the absence of a bachelor's degree, fourteen years of
related experience.
