Currently seeking a Java Developer for a client in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The person in this position will provide professional skills necessary for
all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for multiple
projects. We are seeking candidates that understand how BPA applications
fit into a corporation’s enterprise IT portfolio. Client is currently
implementing AWD v10 (Automated Work Distributor product from DST
Technologies). This is an upgrade from our current legacy version that has
been running for several years. The Application Developer position will be
a key resource in helping to develop technical solutions with this
application and several other custom-grown applications that integrate with
AWD. The primary development language needed for this application is Java.
In addition the Application Developer will be tasked with developing in our
Scan Capture applications for OCR, which require a working knowledge of C#
and Visual Basic. The Application Developer will be responsible for
performing technical design/development and working with our business
partners on multiple projects. They will team with other development
professionals in aspects of analysis, design, and delivery of business and
technology solutions for our operations teams. The Application Developer
must demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex systems/operations for
web-based applications. They will leverage these skills to identify
application issues, and communicate this information to a larger team
through written correspondence and verbal presentations The Application
Developer must demonstrate strong problem solving, the ability to work
independently and without constant supervision. They must also be able to
drive results on their own without the day to day contact of their
immediate manager. Candidates must have experience and be proficient in
working with various diverse teams.
*Requirements
*Candidates must be able to quickly pick up and take ownership of
development assignments. This includes gathering and understanding specific
requirements, technical specification documentation, design, architecture,
implementation, unit testing, builds/deployments, troubleshooting, and code
management
Candidates must be experienced at taking non-technical business
requirements and designing technical solutions
Candidates must have strong collaboration skills and should be comfortable
working with developers spread throughout many geographic regions including
India.
Candidate must display a strong sense of ownership and responsibility with
assignments
Candidates must excel in application development in Java and in the
delivery and implementation of web-based applications.
They must be able to design and deliver complex applications in large
systems. They must be familiar with the strategies, concepts, rationale,
challenges, and best practices of all SDLC practices in large applications
that service 2000+ users.
Relevant experience must include architecture, design, development,
testing, code optimization and tuning, strong background in process and
system analysis, knowledge of Internet and Service Oriented Architecture
(SOA) concepts, and familiarity with multiple development platforms
including Java, XML, Relational Database,
Candidates should have the ability to employ a strong customer focus with a
demonstrated skill to work seamlessly with business sponsors and
technologists. Ability to analyze, learn and apply rapidly changing
technologies and apply them as part of integrated solutions to business
requirements.
Candidate must have excellent oral, written, and presentation communication
skills. Candidates must possess the ability to use visual aids such as
charts and graphs to convey complex technical concepts.

*Bachelors Degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer
engineering or related field required
3+ years experience required in Java application development
2+ year experience required in VB/VBA application development
