Good Morning,

I am reaching out to you today concerning a new opening for a Mainframe
Programmer with our client*, in Birmingham, AL*.   Please see the job
description below and send me the resumes of your best candidates. The
interview process will be a technical phone screen.  This is a 12-14 month
contract with to perm position.   *Communication is a major factor for this
role*.  Thank you for your help with this.



*Mainframe Programmer- (12-14 month contract) Pay Rate: $40.00/HR(This is
our absolute max!)*

Experienced Mainframe programmer with a strong knowledge and minimum 5
years of experience with the following technical skillset:

o   COBOL (batch programming)

o   JCL

o   MVS

o   DB2

o   SQL

Additional important qualifications required:

o   Strong communication and personal skills.  This person will work in
partnership with business area.

o   Strong analysis and requirements gathering skills.

o   Experienced building thorough test cases and performing/documenting
test results.

o   Good documentation skills.  This person will be required to create
substantial documentation around the new processes created.

Other considerations:

o   Knowledge of SDLC is a plus

o   Health Industry experience, especially Blue Plan experience, is a plus

o   Minimal gap between assignments

Assignment overview:

o   The assignment is dealing with provider data and an incentive pay based
system based on measures and procedures

o   This person will be working closely with a technical resource from the
business area to transition, mechanize and standardize an “application
workflow” built by the business consisting of manual processes,
spreadsheets, tables, SQL queries, and Crystal Reports.  We will be looking
to bring this into IT as an application.  Our goal is to

§  Standardize the current user tables and bring into our production
environment

§  Mechanize data load and decision criteria into batch programs

§  Automate vendor file loads into tables

§  Identify the areas of the process that cannot be mechanized and will
have to remain a business area responsibility

§  Document the process in detail ( high level flow diagrams and detailed
technical documentation)

o   This person may be involved with additional support/maintenance
responsibilities from the IT team they will be working with as the new
application is transitioned into IT and knowledge transfer with existing
personnel is occurring.
