Have a great day! ________________________________________ Our client with located in New York NY is in need of a Sr. Security Network Engineer for a 6-12 month contract. The Engineer is responsible for providing life-cycle management, quality assurance, customer communications, and technical troubleshooting support. Focus on the overall end to end technical assurance of network infrastructure for a client’s requirements. Validate, recommend, and facilitate Network Security solutions to meet customer business needs. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Interface with the customer, implementation managers, vendors, operations, other engineering team, and account team members to gather requirements as new projects are introduced. • Required to design, implement, and support Firewall, IPS/IDS, Proxy, Internet Access, RAS, Voice Security, and Internet based VPN, technologies. • Analyze IDS, content filter and firewall logs for possible network security concerns and rule base refinement • Develop and implement network security modifications to ensure compliance with customer’s security policy. • Document and update network design and topography with any changes for equipment, systems, or architectural design. • Provide technical consultation related to network architecture and security to the customer • Creating all the needed documentation, building close relationships with other teams in networking area, developing site survey forms and reviewing results. • Develop site documentation packages and equipment order lists. • Configure new and existing devises, updating all management devices, testing post implementation for functionality and manageability. • Be on call for implementation support • Escalation point for any implementation issues. • Responsible for security engineering, hardware/software configuration, diversity analysis, disaster recovery analysis, utilization analysis, network implementation, problem management and general subject matter expertise. • Work on problems of extremely complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation covering multiple aspects of network and application security. • Determine feasibility of technical solutions. Assist in root cause determination of network and related problems. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Excellent client interfacing skills • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills. Expert knowledge of: • Cisco ASA, and Checkpoint Firewalls • IBM IPSs • Cisco Ironport Proxies • F5 Load Balancers • Palo Alto FWS • Experience in configuring and installing the above devices • Project management background is needed with excellent documentation, interpersonal skills and the ability to work with little or no direction and delivery end-to-end results. Formal project management experience on large scale projects. Proficient in: • Network, Application, End-User, and Voice Security • BGP, and OSPF Routing Protocols, LAN Switching, VLANs, Multicast, Load Balancing, WAN Acceleration, and Wireless LANs • Spanning tree protocol, VLANS and inter-VLAN routing • Cisco routers, and switches • Architecture and design knowledge of primary vendor security appliances, including firewalls, IDS, IPS products from Cisco, Checkpoint, IBM, Palo Alto, etc. • Experience in IT strategy and road map projects in the security space, including security policy development. • Taking a leadership role and providing technical direction and implementation support. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Strong interpersonal skills in working with cross-functional teams. • Working under extremely expedited timeframes and pressure to meet client deadlines. • Being a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to work with a team environment as well as in a standalone role. Working independently with minimal supervision • Having confidence to address upper management and apprise them of outages in critical situations. • Proficiency in: Reviewing network change scripts, scheduling network change activities, site acceptance and Site Design Packages review, assessment of network impact, working with PMs and engineers prior to implementation. Certifications (or equivalent experience): • CISSP, CISA, CISM, CGEIT preferable • Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification • Knowledge in UNIX/LINUX • Knowledge in DNS, DHCP, WINS, active directory, group policy a plus.
