Position: Java Web Services Developer Location: Rockville, MD Length: 8.5 months (+) This is going to be an implementation project where the consultant will be responsible for implementing SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) into a Java, web services environment. This consultant must be able to work independently as well as to meet strict deadlines. This project will be for over 8 months. Need to have REST experience, not just SOAP Web services. The candidates also need to have done solo design experience in prior environments or implementing it from scratch. Must be able to and have past experience with implementing SOA into a web services environment. Summary of Duties: · Implements appropriate business logic within the service layer. · Defines and develops RESTful APIs to access existing application data and functions. · Considers security and scalability requirements within initial design and ongoing operational requirements. · Coordinates development efforts between user interface and the back end. · Works with test team to build and execute test plans prior to deployment. · Works with other developers to define system integration interfaces and utilities. · Manages workload and clearly communicates accurate estimated timeframes for delivery among competing priorities. · Participates in requirements gathering sessions. · Provides weekly status reports. · Perform other duties as assigned.
