Client has requested a set top / black box tester for their Mountain View location. Please let me know if you have any consultants that would be a fit. Location: Mountain View, CA Rate: $40/hr Duration: 6 Months *Position Name*: Set Top Box -Black box tester *Status*: Open *Scope of Work*: Black Box /Set Top Box Tester Role Would you like to be part of a team that architects, designs and builds an end-to-end premium media service? Our client is looking for a Software Test Engineer/ Black Box Tester/QA Tester with a passion in the TV and general audio/video media space. As Black Box Testers /QA Tester for Set Top Box testing, you will validate the playback of live as well as video on demand, focusing more on the quality of the video being delivered to Setup Top Box. You should be able to think corner case scenarios well so that we can find the bugs early in the cycle. Responsibilities • Identify quality issues and report bugs using TFS(Visual Studio)- previous experience of working with Set top box testing is a must • Create Test cases and execute based on the existing test cases. • Conduct manual testing • Create documentation for Manual Tester Procedures for Wiki • Help developers to repro issues, and resolve fixed bugs • Test failure analysis, able to capture logs, and analyze the logs (Training will be provided) • Work within Scrum, Agile, Cloud environment. • Perform regression testing. Technical Skills • A MUST: Previous experience doing Set top box testing • Familiarity with audio video testing, or understanding of basic terminology like Aspect Ratio, resolution, Codecs, etc • Familiarity with Smooth Streaming • Experience with agile methodologies (scrum) is a plus. • Comfortable with performing regression testing. • High Attention to detail • Thinking out of the box and ability to work independently. *Start Date*: 11/11/2013 *End Date*: 4/7/2014 Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
