Healthcare experience is not that important… what is important is that they
are strong Spring Developers who have experience with *messaging
frameworks (e.g. RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, HornetQ)*. If they do not have any
experience with the messaging frameworks but they have strong
*spring*skills, sent them to me anyway.
*Role:** Senior Java Developer - Spring/RabbitMQ*
*Location: Denver, CO - local highly preferred, but we’ll pay for travel if
necessary Duration: 400 hours (2.5 months) - We have two other deals that
are following right behind this one that will require similar skill set.*

This is a critical role and suitable for very senior and skilled
engineers who will work extensively with the Enterprise Application
Architect on building key pieces of a new web application and services
platform. This team member will help build a service to process a
continuous stream of message sent from the Orion Rhapsody Integration
Engine. (It has yet to be determined if these messages will be in HL7
format or pre-processed into another form). This service will need to be
fast, scalable, and reliable.
*Required Skills and Attributes*
• Java: 5+ years
• Web app back-end development experience: 5 years
• Extensive experience with Spring
• JMX experience
• Thorough understanding of Java Servlets
• Comprehensive knowledge of REST and Java RESTful frameworks
• Decent SQL and RDBMS development skills - need not be an SQL wizard
• Messaging frameworks (e.g. RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, HornetQ)
• Asynchronous programming and thorough knowledge of concurrency
programming techniques
• Very conversant on both the why and how of unit testing
• Excellent software design skills
• Writes clean, easily understood, maintainable code
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Will have to document and explain their work!
• Ability to affably work with developers with diverse technical
backgrounds and skill levels
*Desired Skills and Attributes*
• Scala
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Web app server-side performance diagnosis and tuning
