Nothing less Job Description The Senior Software Automation Engineer will be part of a development team that develops highly configurable software in a collaborative environment employing Agile development methodologies. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for selecting, developing and implementing an automation framework to support SaaS platform development. Best candidates will have a passion for creating a replicable, structured approach to automated testing that new team members can understand and extend independently. Primary Duties and Responsibilities · Evaluate and select an automated tool suite to support SaaS testing and then create, update and maintain the automation framework for testing efforts. · Participate in the design, development, documentation, analysis and testing of assigned products. · Work with project leaders and engineering management to analyze project requirements with the goal of increasing automated testability and decreasing risk. · Develop processes for effective monitoring and reporting of automation test cycle results. · Internally market the principles and practices associated with automation. · Provide accurate story sizing and time estimates for all testing efforts. · Follow current testing processes and policies including documentation and Jira maintenance. · Investigate, reproduce, log and escalate reported defects. · Attend and participate in all Agile ceremonies – standups, demos, retrospectives and planning sessions. · Communicate and support all project-related information in a timely and professional manner as dictated by team need and testing processes. · Train and support internal users when new functionality is released. · Master current and help evolve more efficient/effective testing environments including improvements to test data, queries to (sandbox) environments and robust error logging. · Coordinate and participate in release activities. · Train, guide and help develop SQA resources in automation principles and practices. Required Job Related Skills and Experience · Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. · Six years of software quality assurance testing experience. · Acted in a lead role in evaluating and selecting an automated solution. · At least three years spent implementing automated testing frameworks and designing automated test suites using the more common automation tools (Telerik, QTP, Selenium or TestPartner). · At least 1 year experience using automation to test web applications and technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript, JSON)from browser through back-end. · Familiarity with relational databases, proficiency with SQL and one or more scripting languages (Python, Perl, vendor-specific scripting languages). · Experience with test case management and execution tools and an understanding of how those tools are used in an automated testing environment. · Experience with software build management and continuous integration . · Experience with automated load and performance testing design, development, implementation and reporting preferred. · Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is a plus.
