* can troubleshoot problems quickly, effectively and creatively

* has the ability to analyze a problem at a system level and determine

the root cause at a technical (detailed) level

* has the ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly to solve

technical problems

* has the ability to interact with non-technical colleagues and

communicate in layman's terms

* has production experience supporting and deploying to web application

servers such as Oracle BEA Weblogic Server 9 and 10,  Apache Tomcat server,

* has production experience supporting Apache web server, Java,

  WLST scripting,

* has at least 5 years' experience in middleware administration in a
UNIX/Linux environment

* has strong shell scripting skills

* has networking experience, especially in DMZ environments

* has experience in performance tuning and analysis

* has excellent communication skills and produces clear documentation

* has the ability to self-manage time and multiple constraints in a

rapidly changing, high-pressure and complex technical environment

* has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or related field or

equivalent experience



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* As part of a team, support both public-facing and internal web sites

and applications. Responsibilities include: on-call support,

troubleshooting, incident notification and resolution, problem

management, post-mortem analysis, and root cause identification.

* Interact with and coordinate activities of cross-functional teams,

including development, system administration, database administration,

network engineering and operations center staff.

* Design/build/deploy public-facing high availability Enterprise web
applications

* Automate recurring tasks

* Write clear documentation

* Help develop policies and best practices

* Respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotation basis

* Proactively identify gaps and look to improve overall system availability





Oracle DBA

·         Installing, configuring and upgrading the Oracle server software
and related products

·         Maintaining the established backup and other recovery policies
and procedures.

·         Establishing sound backup and recovery policies and procedures as
needed.

·         Work with IT and business teams to address issues specific to the
database/application

·         Work on performance issues with various business teams

·         Perform periodic database refreshes

·         Participate in on call rotations

·         Monitors system performance and evaluates areas to improve
efficiency.

·         Specifies proper types of files organization, indexing methods,
and security procedures.

·         Preform database change requests, patches, monitoring tools, and
resolve exceptions, alerts and issues

·         Address a variety of database issues including integration,
maintenance/conversion, capacity planning, and new applications; diagnose
and resolve complex problems in a production Oracle environment

·         Maintain database security

·         Monitoring the performance of the Oracle database system and
implementing the required changes to increase the performance.

·         Responsible for providing trend analysis to support informed
decisions regarding resource allocation management; maintain up-to-date
documentation of all Oracle environments.

·         Maintain availability and integrity of databases through multiple
access schemes; facilitate sharing of common data by overseeing proper key
and index management and data dictionary maintenance

*Job Requirements*

·         7+ years progressive experience as Oracle DBA

·         Experience with stand alone and RAC environments

·         Experience with backup and recovery procedures using RMAN

·         Experience with replication methodologies such as Dataguard,
Shareplex, Golden Gate

·         Experince with Exadata

·         Experience with Exadata preferable

·         Experience with any other database platforms such as MySQL or SQL
Server is preferable

·         Experience with Informatica is preferable

·         Prior Services Industry experience is preferable

·         Ability to mentor and train other Administrators

·         Proven skills communicating to multiple levels of an
organization, including internal, customer, and vendor

·         Able to communicate clearly with peers as well as management

·         Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as
well as work well in groupsFlexibility to adjust to changing requirements,
schedules and priorities

·         The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather
team consensus to move forward

·         Experience working with a virtual team environment is a plus

·         Excellent communication, writing, meeting facilitation and
presentation skills

·         BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required,
or equivalent combination of education and experience

·         Oracle Certification is a plus
