HIRING NOW ::: Oracle DBA Location: Denver, CO Duration: 12 months+
Interview: Phone/Skype but prefer in-person Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring availability, security and performance of production databases. Work with other Infrastructure teams to ensure that the associated hardware resources are adequately allocated to the databases. Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. Responsible for providing trend analysis to the Capacity Planning team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. Able to troubleshoot problems and isolate to data base, schema or application using available tools. Recommend a course of action for resolving a data base issue or providing recommendations to application/schema developers. Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle and other third parties as appropriate. Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollouts, upgrades and patches. Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the application development teams. Work with development team on Application design, schema and DDL review, stored procedures, triggers, and packages. Qualifications / Skills: Hands-on experience managing databases within an Oracle 10g, 11g and Real Application Cluster (RAC) environment. Hands-on experience with PL/SQL, sqlplus and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM). Experience with DataGuard, RMAM, Flash back, High availability Best practice with table, index, and partitioning design and maintenance. Experience with SQL tuning and execution efficiency Cursor Usage / Shared Pool (i.e. bind variable) Full Table Scans (If ran long) Recursive SQL Experience with rapid Oracle performance analysis and tuning Connection Management, Redo log setup Deployment and Migration Errors Understanding of database impacts on the systems finite resources (CPU, Memory, I/O Subsystem, and Network) Knowledge of Oracle Solaris 10, Oracle Solaris (x86), Oracle Linux and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Shell scripting is a plus. Ability to work within an established Change Control Process. Should be able to work with already established data models and naming conventions. Strong problem solving skills. Strong project management and planning skills. Excellent communication skills are important. Ability to work in a team atmosphere but also work effectively with minimum direction, remotely if required. Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
