This is a .net architect who has managed client product engineering engagements whereby the .net application was developed to live on an Amazon Datacenter (cloud) Solutions Manager, Lead Architect *Job Description: * As a Lead Architect driving overall customer offerings and having distinct capabilities to delve deeply into technical solutions, you will be responsible for translating client needs into specific technical requirements that are agreed upon with the line of business and team members ultimately responsible for operating them; this includes business analysis and requirements gathering, conceptual architecture design, detailed costing, contractual statement of work, SLA's, commercial proposals, executive interaction with both internal and customer management, and successful handoff to delivery teams for solution implementations. You are recognized as the subject matter expert both internally and with clients; developing complex technical solutions as part of an overall solution framework and engagement team. Additional responsibilities include overseeing projects through to completion from an architectural design perspective and providing leadership in that regard to ensure client expectations and SLAs are fulfilled. *Overall you will: * * Establish a highly expert framework of competency in technical areas required in solutions design. * Create and maintain strong client relationships; fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing and cooperation. * Create technical and services solutions that are market competitive as well as targeting specific client needs. * Procure costing information and quotes as necessary for the technical solutions designed. * Serve as the key interface to Service Delivery to assure solution acceptance and delivery. * Key focus is on developing credibility with clients in face-to-face situations; this is a client facing role. *KEY TECHNOLOGIES: * * Wintel based Application Hosting Products such as IIS and .NET Framework; including clustering and replication technologies * Unix/Linux based Application Hosting Products such as WebLogic, Apache; including clustering and replication technologies *High level understanding of the following: * * Authentication Technologies such as Active Directory, LDAP, eRights, Oracle Identity Management * Linux, Windows, and Unix Hardware/Operating Systems * Server Virtualization Technologies such as VMWare and LDOMs * High Availability Technologies including Replication, Load Balancing and Disaster Recovery * Cloud services and technologies *REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: * * 7+ yrs of IT experience with Application hosting and solutions architecture and design * Significant experience with solutions development, testing, proof of concept and migration issues, problems and considerations * High level understanding and experience of application development life-cycle and alternative SDLC methodologies such as Agile * Consultative approach with customers and ability to articulate technical concepts using simple business language for the non-technical. * Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities. * Ability to build strong relationships and trust across both internal and client organizations * Ability to decide critical design, operational and financial points with great accuracy in a short time frame * General Business acumen * Superior written and verbal communication skills * Prior experience in performing and/or managing projects This position will be located in New York City.
