Title: Cisco Network Engineer posted on 2014-04-03 08:54:38 Job Description:Role : Senior Cisco Network Engineer Location: Columbia, SC Duration : 6+ months Client is seeking to fill a short term month assignment. This position is a Senior Cisco Network Engineer, and will support the data network infrastructure for client across 530+ locations. This support will include designing, documenting, deploying and supporting LAN and WAN network equipment, with a focus on access, distribution, core and data center LAN services. This staff must be a senior network engineer with operational experience deploying and supporting data networking in a large and complex environment. Experience with Cisco access and distribution LAN switching products supporting data and VOIP, as well as data center class products such as Nexus are required. This staff will be part of a team of network engineers supporting a mixed environment of Ayaya (formerly Nortel Enterprise) LAN equipment, Riverbed, and Meraki products. The primary purpose of this position is to provide senior level Cisco LAN expertise for access, distribution and data center deployments to augment the existing team's expertise in other product sets and design future state solutions. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:*Required: * Hands on senior experience implementing and supporting current Cisco LAN switching products for access, distribution, core and data center solutions. * Extensive knowledge of current Cisco LAN switching product set. * Experience designing, implementing and supporting Cisco Nexus 5000 and 7000 products in a data center environment. * Experience designing, implementing and supporting "Flexpod" solutions using Cisco Nexus and NetApp. * Experience designing, implementing and supporting networking components of Cisco UCS implementations. * Experience designing, implementing and supporting network segmentation in a data center environment using Cisco LAN and ASA firewall solutions. * Senior level knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IP subnetting, and networking technologies. * Senior level troubleshooting skillset related to LAN and WAN technologies, such as data capture and analysis. * Ability to professionally document proposals and as-built network solutions.
