*Title : Desktop Engineer* *Location: Madison, WI* *Duration: 2 Years* *Rate: $45/hr on C2C MAX* Job Description : SOW is in need of a very experienced Desktop Engineer to design and implement the tools and processes for distributing and patching software to their 400 PCs. They have an immediate project to revamp this entire process, including selecting some of the tool kit. This resource must be dedicated to customer service, reliability and security and must be able to create, follow, and train others in a repeatable process from inception, to testing, to user communication, and rollout of a change. Supports and installs software applications, infrastructure and development tools. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. This consultant will need to have experience with decommisioning and replacement of old applications, getting them off the mainframe and onto a Java/Oracle solution, and working with third party vendors. Deep experience with software packages.
