Title: WebSphere Admin posted on 2014-04-23 09:52:37 Job Description:*WebSphere Application Server (WAS) version 7 and/or 8.5 skills as primary with MQ as secondary.* We are looking at 3 - 5 years WAS experience; WebSphere Administrator v7 or v8 (Certified a plus) Experience with installation, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting.... The 3 to 5 most important things this person will need to accomplish to be successful in this role: 1. Integrate new applications into Uline's Enterprise MQ environment. 2. Manage (includes monitoring, performance tuning, patching, installations, configurations, etc.) Uline's Enterprise MQ environment. 3. Provide MQ support to Java and .NET developers. 4. Provide support for WebSphere Application server and AIX. *POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES* - Install, configure and provide daily support of WebSphere Application Server v7.1 and 8.5, MQ v7.5, MFT v7.5 and AIX v7.1. - Install and configure new integrations for WebSphere Application Server, MQ and MFT. - Research, implement and suggest improvements. - Perform daily report analysis and diagnosis. - Determine and resolve all WebSphere Application Server, MQ, MFT and AIX issues. Involve and work with vendors when necessary. - Automate operational procedures, including administration, deployment, reporting, log rotations, archiving, backups, patches and upgrades. - Participate in performance testing and tuning activities. - Configure and utilize Java application performance management tools for monitoring, capacity planning and reporting. - Provide technical assistance to the Java and .NET Development teams. Develop and document disaster recovery plans and participate in testing to ensure environment is recoverable within proper time limits Job Requirements: *MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS* - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Master's degree preferred. - 5+ years experience in WebSphere Application Server, MQ, and MFT implementations in a multi-platform environment. - Proficient in AIX administration, including PowerVM virtualization software. - Experience in analyzing application problems using IBM Support Assistant, OPNET Panorama, CA Wily Introscope and IBM Tivoli Performance Viewer. - Proficient in Bash, Korn and Jython scripting. - Experience managing WebSphere DynaCache. - Experience with IBM i, DB2 and SQL server a plus. WebSphere Application Server and/or MQ certifications a plus.
