Trumbull, CT Duration: 9 months SQL DBA in Trumbull, CT This position functions as a hands-on Lead DBA responsible for coordinating the implementation, configuration, and administration of large-scale MS SQL databases. This MS SQL Server DBA role requires a service oriented mentality, high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes. Must be proactive in ensuring stable and continuous services and be comfortable working in a fast-paced 24/7 environment. Responsibilities of this role will include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs, reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs; responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with database engineering to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems. *Position Requirements:* · 5-7 year experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server. · Experience with MSSQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2012 · Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. · Extensive experience with backups, restores and recovery models. · Experience with Red GateSQL Backup. · Experience with SQLServer Logshipping, Replication and Clustering. · Experience with transactional and peer-to-peer replication. · Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts and powershell. · Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics. · Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations. · Good communication and documentation skills. · Certification is a plus; MCTS, MCITP, MVP Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
