Job Description:

Role    Agile / SAFe coach
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills    • Experience with or at a
minimum training in Leading SAFe (SA) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC)
• Scrum Master Certification (CSM) and a minimum 5 years practical
experience
• Strong professional experience and a proven understanding with iterative
development, incremental software delivery, and the “why” behind it
• Demonstrated knowledge with the principles behind emergent requirements
• Having wide-ranging experience, knowledge, and belief in agile principles
alongside strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent understanding of agile metrics (e.g. how to build a burn-down,
track velocity, backlog tracking, and task definition)
• Expertise in making continuous improvement changes, especially as it
relates to software development
• Demonstrated knowledge of test driven development and the virtues of unit
testing
• Proven ability as a servant leader with excellent communication (verbal
and written) and social skills
• Exceptional facilitative skills, must be able to lead and demonstrate
value add principles with transparency (e.g. desire to bring disclosure and
grow trust)
• Must be able to resolve conflict with professionalism and a win-win
attitude
• Proven ability to lead teams to self-organize and working independently
with limited supervision
• Enthusiastic and fun individual with an attitude of team empowerment
Roles and responsibility    • Evangelizing SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
• Assist and provide expertise in the organizational change required for
the Agile Transformation
• Provide training on SAFe practices
• Help develop roles and responsibilities appropriate for the Mercury
program that accommodates the SAFe framework
• Facilitate iteration planning, lead work within individual sprints, and
coordinate retrospectives and demos
• Assist key business users (product owners) with backlog creation and
grooming.
• Ensure cross functional coordination (analysts, developers, and testers)
is occurring early and often. Lead daily stand-ups, resolve conflict, and
be an “un-blocker” for Agile team(s)
• Maintain and publish agile metrics (e.g. velocity and burn-down)
• Coach, mentor, and evangelize agile best practices across the
organization.
• Coach the teams on the Train to enhance Scrum and agile skills and prowess
• Coach and mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners and System Teams
• Facilitate release train readiness and backlog grooming
• Facilitate Inspect and Adapt workshops
• Implement relevant Metrics
• Assist with Agile Technical Delivery practices
• Work with Testing Strategist and Technical Tester to introduce automated
testing into the SDLC process
• Provide Agile tool coaching
• Provide support for development of a sustainable Agile Center of
Excellence and internal Agile Communities of Practice
o Identify and coach internal champions, in order to remove reliance on
external mentors
o Develop Agile Working Groups
o Develop Content Authority
• Act as a ScrumMaster and coach for Agile teams
