Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of functional test automation activities. Must have the ability to analyze and understand complex applications and systems and be able to program automation scripts requiring minimal intervention. Must have strong decision-making skills for problem identification and solution recommendations. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to prepare and communicate test plans and procedures as well as to interact with all levels within the company. With full competency, able to design, develop and execute functional automation scripts as well as assimilate non-functional requirements to create, execute and analyze stable, reusable, and accurate performance test scripts. Required skills specific to Cucumber: • 2 years experience with agile automation tools, to include Cucumber and/or Selenium • Familiar with Cucumber frameworks • Thurough knowledge of Gherkin • Create and setup a Rails environment • Understand the Rails stack - callbacks, filters, plugins, engines, gems, rack • Use generators to create models, controllers and migrations • Create and use a migration to manage the database • Define tests using Cucumber and rSpec • Create a model and basic validations • Handle a GET request using a Controller, Model, and View • Handle a POST request using a Controller, Model, and View • Basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript • Basic version control - clone, commit, push • Understand the basics of object-oriented APIs for Document Object Model (DOM) interaction and browser control • Understanding of ATDD • Knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) a plus Required general testing skills: • Posses strong knowledge of testing methodologies to include Agile, Waterfall, Iterative • Ability to define and manage test plans, strategies, results reporting and metrics • Ability to design and execute complex test scenarios and scripts • Ability to validate and report test results • Ability to coordinate calendars and plans test runs • Analyzes and reviews requirements and technical work products • Ability to map requirements to tests and test results • Ability to prioritize, define and manage defect reporting and resolution • At least two years of recent hands-on experience with automation testing practices and tools • Ability to perform root cause analysis and translate test results to produce test reports for various stakeholders • Ability to analyze complex systems, project documentation in order to determine appropriate test strategies and translate them into required test documentation • Previous experience with estimating test efforts • Excellent communication skills • Self-motivated and capable of working with others with minimal supervision • Flexible - able to present options and seek "best" path when ideal situations do no occur Desired skills: • Competency with HP tool suite (e.g., Quality Center) • SQL experience a plus • SoapUI experience a plus Regards, Sunil.J Veritis Group, Inc.
