Job Title: Websphere Administrator w/Curam
location: Clemson, SC
Duration: 12 Months
Direct Client Position

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs, configures, integrates, maintains and troubleshoots application
server instances and environments.
- Provides WebSphere technical support to the application developers for
the development, QA and production environments.
- Assures Production and supporting environments are kept updated and in
sync.
- Serves as a liaison between the development teams and server
administration teams as it relates to the web based applications.
- Effectively maintains all application servers by performing maintenance
to include patching and upgrades as necessary.
- Ensures application server security integrity by reviewing and
implementing policies within the system.
- Monitors availability of the application servers and optimizes
configurations to provide appropriate performance and availability.
- Automates the deployment process for updating the applications.
- Develops, documents and sets standards for supporting overall web
infrastructure.

Additional Skills: THE STATE EXPECTS THE WEBSPHERE ADMINISTRATOR TO POSSESS
THE FOLLOWING TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Application Servers: IBM websphere, jboss Application Server
Frameworks: IBM Cúram
Java: J2EE, Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), JDBC, JNDI, JMS, JTA, JAXB,
soapui, Web Services toolkit.
Protocols/Standards: HTTP, HTTPS, XML, LDAP, XML Schema, WSDL, SOAP.
Certifications: IBM Certified System Administrator – Websphere Application
Server Network Deployment
Database: Oracle 11g, Derby
Platforms: RHEL 6.4, Mac OS X, Windows, Oracle.
Tools: Subversion, maven, ant.
SDLC: Requirements Analysis. Agile, Scrum, Lean.

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
• Ability to install and configure WebSphere ND and single instance
• Knowledge of installation and deployment of Java enterprise applications
• Knowledge of Websphere connection to back-end resources (jdbc, LDAP, etc.)
• Expertise in configuration of WebSphere security
• Ability to troubleshoot issues relative to WebSphere configuration
• Ability to develop scripts for automating day-to-day tasks
• Knowledge of system monitoring and gathering data for performance tuning
• Expertise in back-up & recovery processes

PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
• Knowledge of healthcare and related insurance principles and processes.
• Medicaid eligibility system/business operations experience.
• SC Medicaid experience.
• Medicaid operations experience.
• Public sector and/or academic environment experience.
• Ability to mentor less experienced team members.
