Job Description:*Job: Full Stack Software Engineer* -
* (Python Developer)Location: New York, NYDuration: Full Time*
*Position Background:*
Looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to make a substantial
contribution to the development of in-house and client facing financial
portals. The individual needs to be capable of working on either the
middle or front-end tiers (including SQL) bringing practical experience
building web sites with rich, complex, data. Work will be primarily done
in C#, Python, and SQL. Nice to haves include NoSQL databases, Node.js and
WPF.
*Roles and Responsibilities:*
- Support the development of applications, which provide essential
solutions for clients; may include debugging current systems or programming
simple enhancements
- Take ownership of tasks as assigned to ensure successful
implementation; get support from experienced Software Engineers as needed
- Work with business representatives and senior Software Engineers to
understand business requirements and the reasons for them
- Work on the formation of information systems by developing, supporting
and maintaining software
- Serve as an independent contributor with expertise in at least one
technical area
- Support application development by writing portions of specifications
in a consistent, comprehensible way
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Contribute to systems software engineering standards and procedures
- Solve a range of problems within area of expertise and apply known
toolkit to new problems
Job Requirements: *Knowledge & Skills*
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems
or equivalent work experience.
- Financial service industry experience desirable.
- Working understanding of generally accepted software development
methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Qualified candidates will have the following experience:
- 3+ years of Python programming.
- 1-2 years C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Entity Framework.
- Expert knowledge of Javascript, Html5, CSS3
- Strong experience with web standards, browser capabilities and
workarounds, best practice development techniques
- Extensive knowledge with SQL
- Nice to have exposure to Node.js, and NoSQL backends
- Passion for developing high quality, beautiful web applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Nice to have some exposure to Node.js, and NoSQL backends
- Nice to have Financial Services experience.
- Must successfully pass background check.
