Job Description:
·         Involve in load data from File to Stage and  different layers like
 *Source, ODS, ADS and DMA* and finally to main legacy data warehouse to
support different lines of business
·         Involved in database development by creating *Oracle PL/SQL
Packages, Stored  Procedures, Functions and Database Triggers*
·         Rewrite lot of applications code to improve the performance of
the query
·         Extensive Knowledge and working of *Bulk Collect* for *data
retrieval and data loading*
·         Create and maintain *Shell scripts to run Oracle Stored
Procedures and Packages*
·         Use *TOAD *for *database design, changes, generate new queries,
format and tune the SQL*
·         Work with Parallel Extender for Parallel Processing to improve
job performance while working with bulk data sources.
·         Involved in writing complex queries to generate ad-hoc reports as
per client request as a part of production support
·         Extensively use the advanced features of *PL/SQL like Subtypes,
Records, Tables, Object types and  Dynamic SQL*
·         Involve in *Tuning, Performance, Optimization of
queries and standardization of the code*
·         Involve in designing the logical and physical model of database
objects using Toad
·         Extensively use PL/SQL tables, cursors and exception handling
·         Use Ref cursors PL/SQL packages
·         Create database links to access data from remote databases.
·         Involved in conversion of data from one platform to another
platform
·         Create high level detailed design documents. Involved in Gathered
Requirements *Technical Documentation, Unit testing and Integration Testing*
·         ETL tools are a plus, but not a must.(They use datastage)   His
team does a lot of the ETL processes using the classic approach via PL/SQL
rather than just using the tools based on the complexity and size of many
of the systems.
·         Must have Large Batch File Processing experience (prefers
exposure to 1 million records or more).  This is what they call DW
Processing.  He said the person needs to be able to develop a batch process
from scratch as well as maintain the batch process in production – not a
production support developer only.  (ex. Questions: Have you done batch
processing?  How would you process a  1 mill record file
