Title: Solution Designer/Architect - Voice Portfolio (IMS, SIP, BVE & PRI) Project: IT initiatives for Comcast Business Services Division Location: Mount Laurel, NJ | Comcast Center, Philadelphia Duration: 6+ Months No of Positions: 1 Rate: $DOE The successful candidate will meet the following requirements: * Minimum of seven (7) years' experience as an enterprise architect covering service-oriented architecture, web applications architecture and solutions architecture roles. This experience should include: * Experience with Commercial Services Voice over IP (VoIP) products (IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), Session Initiation Protocol Trunking (SIP), Business Voice Edge (Cloud PBX), Primary Rate Interface Trunking (PRI)) * Defining hardware architectures * Defining software architectures * Using application design patterns * Demonstrating ability to create systems architecture and solution design * Investigating and resolving system-wide technical problems * Evaluating COTS products * Designing new features to meet new business requirements * Minimum of seven (7) years' experience using each of the following: * Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) * Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) * Web applications architecture * Software technologies (.NET, J2EE) * Enterprise Architecture tools (Visio, IBM Rational Software Architect, etc.) * Enterprise Content Management tools (document management, document warehouse, content management tools, etc.) * Database architecture * Collaboration tools * Workflow and business process management Desired Experience/Qualities: * Experience with Business/Commercial Services VoIP products and associated protocols * Experience in Telecom or ISP domain is a plus. * Experience in Ethernet , Internet technologies is a plus. * Experience developing, promoting and executing an enterprise technical vision based on customer business needs and industry best practices * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills * Experience converting high level business requirements into enterprise level technical solutions * Experience with multiple Hardware and Software Environments * Experience with a variety of hardware platforms including distributed platforms, desktops and mobile devices * Comfortable with complex heterogeneous systems environments * Experience leading multiple projects through the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) * Experience with a variety of roles in SDLC * Experience evaluating and implementing (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) COTS products * Experience with technical presentations, demonstrations to the customers as well as to the technical team * Possessing skill and understanding of variety of Operating Systems is a plus * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or relate field * Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field - highly desired * Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodology is a plus The successful candidate can be expected to perform the following duties: * Lead and design technology solutions that are innovative, cost effective, high quality, and enable timely delivery to the business customer. * Create, or contribute to teams that create application architecture artifacts, design frameworks, standards and best practices based on the technologies used * Interface, and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical staff. Collaborate with Project Managers to provision estimates and develop overall implementation solution plans * As required, serve as a software development technology lead * As needed, support business development life cycle by serving as a product SME to help identify and quantify business development opportunities * Work with business analysts, solution designers and developers on projects to clarify the requirements and application architecture, and assist them in implementing proposed solutions Essential Job Functions * Acts as the subject matter expert and solution designer for the Commercial Services VoIP projects and serves as the end to end system architecture authority within that scope. Responsible for solution design, impact assessment based on business requirements. * Work with component or system teams and come up with solution design, system roles and responsibilities for a particular project, system interaction diagrams, and system requirements. * Display ability to quickly understand newer systems, functions. Ability to use open source products to come up with prototyping as required. Develop proof of concepts as needed to check feasibility of adopting a solution. * Defines highly complex technology-based business solutions. Provides thought leadership regarding system design, architecture, and integration. Mentors and leads project teams in the appropriate use of technology. * Reviews and approves high risk design decisions prior to implementation. * Leads system design activities or reviews system designs to ensure that applications solutions will exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment. * Leads technology and product general assessments, detailed evaluations, and final selections. Educates and provides technical advice to management. * Leads system performance diagnosis and scalability assessment activities. Coordinates and manages activities of multiple hardware and software vendors on large project engagement. * Represents Company in technology discussions with vendors. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience * Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technologies * Ten or more years of system architecture experience * Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software * Experience working with telecommunications industry with BSS/OSS background and web based technology development.
