*Role: Software Architect*

*Location: San Antonio, TX*

*Duration: 12+ Months*

*Rate: $/hr on C2C All Incl.*

*Position Comments:* This position is needed to fill an interim resource
gap for an architect/application development specialist largely in support
of ongoing FSD related efforts.


*Job Description:*

·         Responsible for initial design and development of new software or
extensive software revisions; products may be for use internally or for
resale.

·         Defines product requirements and creates high-level architectural
specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with
existing systems/platforms.

·         May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to
be the top level contributor/specialist.

·         May guide a team of developers through the project to completion.

·         Requires at least 8 years of experience.


*Impact to Business:*

·         Support for large number of Application  Development and
Architecture.

·         Help service the business' ability to provide elite level of
service in the mutual fund industry.

·         Help advance applications for future capabilities.


*Additional responsibilities:*

·         Creates technical vision in conjunction with internal business
and technology partners and vendors.

o    Identifies and assesses emerging trends and leads implementation of
new technologies.

o    Actively participates in industry forums for relevant technologies and
practices.

o    Identifies and drives efforts to enhance development practices and
processes.

o    Proactively identifies and mitigates technology risks and skill gaps.

o    Influences business technology roadmaps by providing solution
leadership, drawing on extensive technical, business, industry and/or
product knowledge.

·         Translates complex and cross-functional business needs into
technology solutions.

o    Develops and advances key relationships with business, internal
technology partners and vendors to identify needs and opportunities.

o    Coordinates across teams to create and document advanced technical
designs and provide best effort estimates. May create design patterns for
shared use.

o    Analyzes and troubleshoots and recommends innovative approaches to
solving complex problems that require specialized knowledge and/or skills.

o    Performs advanced code review to ensure design patterns are followed
and aligns with  architecture standards.

o    Proactively designs, codes, integrates, tests, deploys and maintains
high quality, complex solutions.

o    Applies information management concepts in order to design and
implement systems that maximize data integrity and enable analytics
capability.

o    Builds high quality deliverables.

·         Provides advanced technical guidance and advice on initiatives.

o    Leads complex software development lifecycle activities.

o    Draws on deep technical experience working with an array of
applications and technologies  requiring depth, breadth and versatility to
evaluate design alternatives for technical feasibility and provide
recommendations to development teams and business partners.

o    Collaborates with others to help set direction of major initiatives.

o    Consults or leads technology initiatives that require specialized
knowledge or skills.

o    Provides senior technical leadership and consulting to teams.

o    Works with resource managers to identify strengths and development
needs of team members.

o    Mentors, supports and participates in efforts to increase performance
effectiveness.

o    Manages resource requirements and allocations.

o    Identifies key capability gaps and how to address them.

o    Works across domains and teams to optimize solutions, build competency
and share experience.

o    Actively seeks to build competency in IT trends and directions,
software product technical knowledge, industry knowledge and business
acumen in order to add value.


*Hiring Criteria/Technical Experience:*

·         8-10 yrs experience leading large scale application development
efforts.


·         *Technologies:*

o    ASP.NET, C#, Web Services (RESTFul, SOAP, etc.), jQuery, ExtJS, HTML5,
CSS3.

o    Java.

o    SQL Server, Oracle.

o    Weblogic, TCserver, IIS.

o    Sling.

o    Spring MVC.

o    Hibernate.

·         Experience effectively leveraging IaaS & SaaS.

·         Strong verbal communication skills including demonstrated ability
to effectively translate technical concepts, solutions design and
implications to non-technical audiences.

·         Ability to effectively influence and shape technology direction.

·         Demonstrated ability to scope & size technology solutions within
relevant business constraints (e.g., time to market, cost, etc).
