I have an immediate need for a Linux Administrator. Details are below. I have one need in Farmington Hills. MI and another need in Boston, MA. Candidates must be either a Green Card Holder or have a EAD.
*Position: UNIX Administrator* *Location:Boston, MA and Farmington Hills, MI - 2 positions open* *Length: 6+ Months* *Interview Mode: phone followed by Skype* *Description:* *Responsibilities: *Implement software and hardware to support the Linux environment Install, upgrade, configure, and tune Linux systems including hardware, system software, and applications Analyze system errors as well as specific server / storage performance issues Formulate and implement monitoring, policies, procedures and standards relating to server and storage management Perform system backup and recovery. *Experience: *7 plus year's systems administration experience in a production Linux environment Extensive knowledge and experience in supporting and troubleshooting Linux networking services and protocols: IPTABLES, RSYNC, SCP, CURL, SAR, CRON, RAIDTOOLS, MAKE, TCP/IP, NIS, DNS, NFS, LDAP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, and HTTP Demonstrated understanding of Linux clusters and cluster technologies Demonstrate ability to write Linux Scripts Ability to Patch Linux Kernel Experience with Monitoring[Nagios preferred] Experience with vendor management Expertise with Amazon *EC2, EBS, S3, CloudFront, Cloud Formation* or Rightscale supporting a production application deployment[You will be tested on the ability to use the AWS API and Commandline Tools] Experience with Puppet a Plus. Experience with Backups.
