We have an immediate need for a Senior HP Data Protector Backup/Recovery
Operations Engineer with experience deploying and supporting HP Data
Protector in a Virtual ESX environment. The successful candidate will
manage and support our virtual and physical Data Center backup
environments. In addition other duties include:
· Provide around the clock support for the Kronos Operations Data
Center.
· Work with offshore IT Team Members on backup, restore, and
operations issues.
· Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of backup
solutions using Data Protector on a Linux platform, within a large-scale
enterprise infrastructure.
· Installation, configuration and maintenance of Quantum LTO tape
libraries and Tape Area Networks.
· Ability to quickly resolve escalated customer issues.
· Coordination with customers on implementation, scheduling,
restoring and troubleshooting failures.
· Advanced troubleshooting of backup and restore failures on
Microsoft Windows Server (2003,2008), databases including Microsoft SQL
2003, 2005, 2008 (including Enterprise, Standard, Express versions), Oracle
(8i, 9i, 10g), and MSSQL.
· Perform data restorations for up to and including moderately
complex restores including both Windows Server Clusters and Linux Clusters,
upon customer request.
· Collaborate with Project Managers and other information
technology personnel.
· Respond to incident management system from employee generated,
and automatic alerting systems.
· Perform day to day Data Center Operations and work with vendors
to maintain equipment efficiency.
*Qualifications: *
· Strong HP Data Protector experience
· Strong VMware skill set
· SharePoint Integration and GRE recovery
· Backup of Microsoft Exchange 2010 environment and restore using
GRE
· Understanding of backup levels, file system vs. application
backup methods, snapshots, etc
· Extensive experience configuring HP DP Cell Manager on Windows
cluster server and LINUX
· Extensive experience configuring Data Protector V7 Integrations
on Oracle RMAN , VM VADP , MSSQL , SharePoint, Exchange 2010, and NDMP
· Configuration of HP B6200 Store Once
· Configuration of Tape library and VTL
· Configuration of Catalyst
· Providing L3 support on all backup related problems
· Four+ year’s work experience in backup solution implementation
and management
· Excellent time management and organizational skills
· Advanced understanding of backup job scheduling for file system
and database backups
· Pro-actively look to improve and add efficiency to current
processes and exercise judgment in the decision-making process in order to
provide consistent customer service
· Self-motivated; ability to maintain excellence in service with
minimum supervision
Ability to work well under pressure and under stressful situation
