Here is the job description: Position: Geographic Information System (GIS) Programmer Location: Albany, NY Duration: 18 Months Mandatory Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) and three years related field or six years direct experience in IT software development. Desirable Experience: 1. Five (5) or more years demonstrated experience designing and articulating GIS solutions based on documented business processes, rules and user requirements, with three (3) or more years of the experience having worked with users on GIS solutions in the human services arena. 2. Five (5) or more years experience writing stored procedures and demonstrated experience designing large complex enterprise SQL Server and/or Oracle database(s) for spatial data; and using spatial packages (Oracle Spatial, MapInfo SpatialWare, ESRI-SDE, etc.) within RDBMS, with preference given to Oracle Spatial. 3. Five (5) or more years demonstrated experience working with project staff as a Lead Developer for a complex, large-scale, N-Tier, web-based GIS application(s) using the following: VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, WebServices, XML, SOAP, ASP and VB COM, MTS, MapMarker, MapXtreme 3.x/2004/2005. 4. At least one year of demonstrated experience using one or more of the following design/development tools: WCF, WPF, ExpressionsBlend 5.
