Hours over 40 will be paid straight time. Job Description Analyzes requests from various engineering groups and modifies existing equipment, or conceptualizes, designs, and creates new special purpose equipment to support the needs of Manufacturing, or Research and Development departments. Emphasis is give to concept of design and effective project planning and results. Strong mechanical design background geared towards automated equipment used in a medium-volume production environment (2500 units/day). Candidate will be responsible for CAD design, analysis of strength and tolerances, material selection and producing drawings and specifications, design verification, and will support equipment qualification activities. Special Skills Needed: Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD, specifically SolidWorks. Experience integrating electronic subsystems into fixtures (PLC’s, I/O boards, drive modules, LCD/HMI Displays, power supplies). Bachelor's degree plus 6+ years of related work experience with a strong understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Three years of direct experience with performing equipment development activities in Medical Device industry required. Candidates must have strong mechanical design skill set in SolidWorks with experience in developing equipment for a medical device industry. We are not looking at candidates with electronics background.
