*Title: JavaScript Developer* * * *Location : Indiana* * * *Duration : 6+ Months* *Job Description: * The Front-End Engineer, Framework, on the Platform team will assist with the design and development of frameworks and libraries for client-side web application development, as well as enable team members and third party developers to utilize what they have built. * * *Responsibilities* · Full cycle of JavaScript front end development. Includes deep understanding of the DOM, JSON, object-oriented JavaScript, and common JavaScript libraries. · Implementing AJAX-driven interface. This includes extensive knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, AJAX, and REST. · Evaluating and utilizing frameworks for front end development, such as jQuery, Bootstrap, RequireJS, Handlebars, Backbone · Maintaining a complex JavaScript front end project. This includes the ability to structure JavaScript code, delay loading, and execution optimization. · Manage the optimization, minification, and bundling of our framework/libraries using tools like RequireJS, Uglify, Node, Grunt.js, etc. · Handle the management and administration of our public GitHub repositories for our libraries ? including pushing/pulling changes * * * * The ideal candidate considers themselves a programmer, not a designer, and codes primarily in JavaScript. The candidate has a curiosity and excitement for new web technologies, techniques, and libraries, and enjoys creating the building blocks that others use. Requirements * * · Experience utilizing the following JavaScript frameworks/libraries: · RequireJS / Grunt / Node · jQuery / jQuery UI / Bootstrap · Underscore / Backbone · Handlebars / Mustache · Globalize · Understanding of W3C standards and experience in addressing cross-browser and platform compatibility issues. · Expert-level proficiency in developing against deployed REST APIs. Experience with integrating major 3rd party APIs (Facebook Open Graph, Twitter, Google Maps, YouTube, Open Social, etc) is a plus. · Expert-level proficiency in XHTML and CSS. Must be able to hand-code standards compliant XHTML and CSS. Practical knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 is a must. · Familiarity with classical programming concepts such as polymorphism, inheritance, and encapsulation. Previous experience with multiple languages also a plus.
