Job Title: Firmware Developer Location: Richmond, CA Duration: 6 months to 1yr Contract Essential Duties and Responsibilities Write, maintain and refactor C++ code for embedded devices (mainly embedded Linux). Write automated tests for new features. Test communication with external devices in the lab. Troubleshoot issues in lab as well as in the field during alpha/beta trials. Maintain a fleet of thousands of devices. Collaborate with other groups on design and implementation of new features. RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering. 5+ years of experience writing C++ code. Deep understanding of encapsulation, object-oriented design and design patterns. Extensive experience with embedded systems. Extensive experience writing multi-threaded programs. Commitment to writing clean, elegant and correct code. Understanding of the cost-benefit trade-off of certain language features (such as templates, exceptions, STL).
