Ability to automate start/stop scripts Experience working in a Unix environment, preferably RHEL. Meaning they must know how to navigate around a Unix server. Activities such as look at log files and clean up directories *Preferred skills are* Tomcat experience *Position Summary (Mission):* The Sr. Middleware Application Administrator requires strong understanding of App Servers (Tomcat and WebSphere ND). The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of these types of systems deployed in VMWare on UNIX servers with a focus on advanced troubleshooting and performance monitoring at the server software and operating system level. *Responsibilities* Essential Functions In-depth knowledge and understanding of Websphere ND and Tomcat. Troubleshoot issues on the various web-tier servers running in VMWare on UNIX/LINUX platforms. Provide high-availability support for Middleware application-tier systems ensuring uptime. Participate in the software deployment process (system configurations, maintaining automated deploy scripts, etc.). Provide on-call and after hours support for production environments on a rotation basis. System Uptime and Availability *Non-Essential Functions* Proven problem-solving, change management, and technical planning skills. Experience with Apache. Strong scripting experience, writing and maintaining. Expected to document configurations and installations.
