*Job Description*
Our client is looking for a Web/UI Developer to join their team in 2014.
This will be a year long contract. This individual will be assisting with
the automation of current systems. Their first project will include
developing an automated ticketing system. They will be responsible for
taking user stories in an agile environment and doing the coding, testing,
documentation. Every 2 weeks the user stories will change.It is imperative
that this individual possess great communication and collaboration skills.
They are looking for someone who can come with ideas, attend and contribute
to brainstorming sessions, and is a strong communicator.
Responsible for the design, development and creation of user-centered
designs for Web sites.
Responsibilities include human factors engineering, heuristic evaluations
and usability testing for Web and client based applications as well as
metrics setting and monitoring for assessing the usability of the Web
application.
Works to improve the usability, usefulness, and desirability of Web sites
in collaboration with Graphic Designers, Product Managers, Engineering
Staff and other Web Designers.
Must be able to perform usability tests, provide design prototypes and
provide ad hoc user interface consulting.
Responsible for requirements gathering and articulation of user interface
issues?including development of page/site prototypes.
Must be knowledgeable of user-centered design methodology, user scenarios,
usability testing, storyboarding, paper and interactive prototypes.
Must have demonstrated skills in graphic applications, HTML development
tools and other applicable authoring tools, Web production, front-end
development using programming and scripting languages (Perl would be useful
but is not required).
Must be able to integrate design into program rules and system architecture
and create innovative approaches to improving the end-user experience.
Must be familiar with platform/browser compatibility and basic usability
issues.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Graphic Design,
or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Typically has 3 - 5 years of combined IT and graphic design experience.
Able to understand HTML and strong working knowledge of Web generators and
photographic libraries. Possesses a portfolio of Web sites or solutions.
*Requirements:*
3-4+ years of related experience in web software development.
PSP, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX, HTML, CSS, Java Experience required.
MySQL Experience is a plus but not required.
Develops, codes, deploys and maintains web applications and websites.
Provides application development and technical support for customer
websites.
Provides technical consultation in new systems development, new package
evaluations and enhancements of existing systems.
Prepares functional specifications from which programs will be written,
then designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs.
Works with Project Lead to design and create a user interface which
includes storyboarding, prototyping, design standards, CSS, and coding.
