MADATORY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide architectural guidance, development and best practices for our EDW
(Enterprise Data Warehouse)
Primary responsibility for configuration management and fine tuning of
Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
Analyze various data sources to architect and feed the new system.
Analyze existing legacy systems, due to be replaced(Sybase)
Help design new Data Warehouse Bus Architecture (conformed facts &
dimensions)
Build Staging tables, Operational data stores, (MS SQL databases), ETL &
Integration packages.
Help build reporting systems, data cubes
Develop queries to extract data from DB2
Review & recommend server hardware & configurations
Participate in enterprise application integration (EAI). This includes
defining the opportunities for integration, recommending tools, specifying
the shared data & code resources, defining the interfaces and data-flows,
and monitoring the success of said integration.
Participate in defining the application tiers, frameworks, components types
and interfaces. Also, review and help create the first-draft graphical
template of UML design models used by the Project Architects.
Advise on Data Policy and the technical solution for the management,
storage, access, navigation, movement, and transformation of data.
Assist in providing framework, stewardship, governance, and decision making
for the management of enterprise data for project development teams,
business users and other stake-holders.
Help to define governance and best practices around meta-data to ensure an
integrated definition of data for enterprise information, and to ensure the
accuracy, validity, reusability, and consistent definitions for common
reference data.
