My client has an immediate need for a *"Senior Greenplum Engineer"* *Duration: 6+months ContractLocation: San Diego,CA Start: ImmediateRate: Market* *Responsibilities* Performs a key role in the areas of Greenplum data development and modeling. Provide standards and guidelines for the development, tuning, deployment and maintenance of Greenplum models and physical databases, conforming to the government's requirements for all systems. Develop Greenplum database solutions with peers and translate the solution into logical and physical data models, culminating in flexible end state solutions that can evolve with future business needs, satisfying a diverse set of needs including: OLTP, reporting, free text searches, mining, warehousing and analytics. Provides overview for logical and physical data model development across applications teams Participates in product roadmap discussions and identify key areas for improvement in the product and incorporate these goals into ongoing & future development initiatives. Applies best practices for database development, migration and operational aspects of the Greenplum Data platform Production and capacity planning. *Qualifications* Minimum of four (4) years of solid Greenplum development experience. Minimum of four (4) years of solid PostgreSQL development experience. Strong experience with Data warehouses and analytic solutions. Strong knowledge of Greenplum database performance tuning and configuration. Strong knowledge of open ETL framework and familiar with ELT design pattern.
