Assist with the integration and implementation of IT solutions supporting the migration of VMS/Unix legacy systems and applications. Function as technical expert working with project teams to analyze existing data models, interview customers to gain a functional understanding, develop code definitions and necessary conversions, develop processes to convert/migrate data, document migration plans and procedures, coordinate testing, perform migrations and reconcile results. Assist one or more project teams with migrating legacy, in-house developed applications from VMS or Solaris to Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Scope could range from single system upgrades to extremely complex legacy system migrations. Significant recent work with one or more of the following is required: SAS, Oracle, MySQL, Java, Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. As the go-to troubleshooter must be adept at evaluating application design and process flow to quickly resolve migration problems.
