I. Background
Client has been using the Personnel Administration System (PAS) for the past
ten years in Headquarters to manage Human Resources (HR) reporting. PAS
uses an MS Access front end, with a SQL Server 2000 backend and data is
stored in the database. Access to HR reporting is limited to those
Headquarters staff who have permission to use PAS through the MS Access user
interface. Field offices have no access to HR reports, so necessary reports
must be provided by Headquarters. Additionally, if Headquarters staff are
traveling, they have no access to HR reports. The goal of this project is
to permit field and Headquarters staff, who have been granted access to HR
reports, a secure environment with the capability to run current HR reports
wherever they have access to the Internet.
II. Statement of Work
Client is seeking an experienced SQL Server Reporting Services programmer to
convert the existing MS Access HR reports to SQL Server Reporting Services,
based upon the ITS project plan. The converted HR Reports will then be
available to authorized fields and Headquarters staff. This application
will be linked to the ClientHR SQL Server database located at Headquarters.
The day-to-day supervisor for this position and administrative and technical
assistance will be provided by other ITS staff as necessary. Initially this
work assignment will be for six months, with a possible extension of six to
nine months.
III. Qualifications and Requirements
Mandatory experience includes:
1) SQL Server Reporting Services
2) SQL Server 2000/2008
3) MSAccess 2003
4) Experience converting MSAccess reports to SQL Server Reporting
Services
5) Documentation Development
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
1) Experience with Personnel Systems
