*Job Description:*

Q Analysts is looking for a Java Developer for a long-term contract
opportunity for its enterprise client in Atlanta, GA. The candidate will
develop Java code for a large scale network provisioning application in a
team environment.



Daily activities include new feature and module development, enhancements
to existing code, working with system engineers to understand requirements,
Junit testing, and collaboration with UI, Workflow and Database teams.



The organization is responsible for layer 1-4 network provisioning,
including both consumer and business requirements for the enterprise. The
team receives service orders from upstream application and manages the
entire provisioning process down to the network activation. There are
nearly 20 interfaces, developed using a common framework, that are
maintained by the Java development team as well as order decomposition and
order updates (moves, adds, deletes, changes).



The organization is growing with new applications for Order Management in
the early phases of development. Strong candidates will have the ability to
move between development applications and demonstrate their prowess.

- Agile software development using Rally Dev as the project management tool

- Strong emphasis on following best practices for coding, Junit testing,
and test automation

- Production deployment support and troubleshooting required as needed

- Dynamic work environment in Midtown Atlanta



*Required Skills/Degrees/Accreditations:*

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related
major

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience and intermediate to expert-level knowledge
in Java technologies, see table below

- Experience in troubleshooting network performance issues

- Strong written & verbal communication & interpersonal skills

- High job performance in recent assignments

Q Analysts is looking for a Core Java Developer for our enterprise client
in Atlanta, GA. This is a long-term position.



Required Skills:

- Demonstrated a solid understanding of JAVA and object oriented
technologies. Developed real world transactional applications.

- Solid understanding of a Unix based operating system: paging/swapping,
inter-process communication, devices and device driver fundamentals, file
system concepts like inode and superblock. Can perform system analysis and
tuning.

- Solid understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing
environments and concepts. Understands the principles of routing and
client/server programming.

- Ability to write detailed scripts in at least one, preferably two
languages, (shell scripts, Perl, Tk, etc.).

- Ability to perform at least minimal debugging and modification of
existing scripts, configuration files, etc.

- Ability to perform most security audits and protect the system against
intrusion.

- Understanding of SQL and ability to write complex queries.

- Fundamental understanding and experience in database fundamentals.

- Independent problem solving; self-directed, self-starting.



*Desirable:*

- Advanced degree in CS is a plus

- Extensive programming experience in an applicable language

- Publications or contributions within the field of system administration
(e.g., open source contributions)



*Responsibilities:*

- Design/implement/maintain client's current code base to meet requirements
or fix existing issues

- Work to harden existing product for deployment

- Establishes/recommends policies and procedures for system use and services

Q Analysts is looking for a Java Developer as we partner with our
Enterprise Client in the Telecom Arena. Atlanta, Georgia is the preferred
location for these positions, but the following will be considered as well:

- St. Louis, MO

- Redmond, WA

- San Ramon, CA



This Developer will each play an important part on a high producing team
and will come with the following skills:



*REQUIRED:*

*- 1+ year of Telco Experience*



DESIRED:

*- Maven/Ant Build Deploy*

The right person will be working within a dynamic group with projects
fluctuating constantly. This is mediation layer work for our client's
mobility and fiber optic networks. This is an application component that
interfaces with various networks via TL1 and other methods. The group uses
a mix of Waterfall and Agile projects and are actually tending more towards
Agile currently.
