*Location: Neenah WI * *Duration: 6 Months * *FACE TO FACE INTERVIEW REQUIRED* We are looking for a strong .NET candidate POSITION SUMMARY Application developer/analyst to be a key member of the team that designs, develops and maintains web applications for our client . Contributes to the web design team’s efforts to specify, improve and implement the look, feel and function of on-line projects. Assignments often involve research in the application and/or business areas and have a direct impact on assigned project schedules, costs and performance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Design, Create user-centered designs based on business and functional requirements, user research, market analysis, customer feedback and usability findings. • Develop and unit-test software solutions to stated business and technical goals using industry standard application frameworks. Note that this includes stand-alone applications as well as integrations between in-house developed software and packaged applications. • Modify existing applications; implement enhancements according to the established specifications and timeframes. • Participate in design and code walk-throughs for both your own and other’s code. • Assist with the development of software and design standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines as needed. • Assist other team members in the development process as needed. • Participate in user research and usability testing to help improve the user experience. • Improve the user-experience by applying best practices and industry trends currently in the marketplace. • Communicate effectively in both verbal (day-to-day discussions, team meetings) and written forms (design specifications). • Supports co-workers cross-functionally with user testing, resolving Help Desk concerns, developing Standard Operating Procedures and other work as requested. • Participate with other developers in weekly on-call rotations to support existing systems and business partners. • Create and/or update technical documentation. • Presents information and responds to questions from leadership team as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABLITIES • Ability to evaluate and resolve less complex business problems. • Ability to work with customers to define requirements and manage issues surrounding software development. • Understanding and knowledge of version control. • Demonstrated object oriented software development experience with JAVA and .Net technologies • Experience with Web Service Design and Development using Java and .Net Technologies (including WCF Web Services, MVC design pattern, LINQ) • Experience with HTML and CSS • Experience with XML technologies ( XSD, XPath, XQuery, XSL, XSL:FO and XSLT) • Development experience with web application framework and JavaScript frameworks (jQuery) • Experience using MS SQL Server as a database back-end, including SQL Server queries and stored procedures. • Experience interfacing with external Java based API’s • Experience creating technical documentation • Excellent technical and analytical skills PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKLLS AND ABILITIES • Knowledge of Content Management systems • Working knowledge of iterative development process • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 product suite, Microsoft SharePoint 2010, and Microsoft Office 2010 product suite • Knowledge of Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and/or ClaimsCenter EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or university and/or three to five years’ experience or any combination of the above experience and learning; advanced degree in related field preferred; property/casualty insurance or financial services experience desired.
