Positions Description: Client has an immediate need for a developer to engage in the optimization of their Sharepoint collaboration and web services for long term stability and increased functionality. They are investigating two options and require developer to investigate each option Option 1, Migrate from SharePoint 2010 (intranet only, server based) to SharePoint 365 (cloud based). The role will largely be defined as helping users clean up sites and preparing for migration to the new environment. Conduct the migration. Then once that migration has happened they'll take on the roles below. Long term this is likely best and cheapest solution.. Option 2, If migration is not possible or permissible and we stay on a Server based SharePoint than rebuilding the AG synchronization tool on SharePoint 2010 is the next biggest task. Currently this isn't working very well, user names are not consistent and because of this workflow functionality and overall SharePoint capabilities are nullified. We also have been told that the server SharePoint lives on is an older server and is filling up. So they'd need to look at long term solutions for storage. We'd also be looking to upgrade to SharePoint 2013 since Microsoft's support of SharePoint 2010 is looking to expire in 2015. Future roles for this position. Ideally a candidate we'd hire would be able to accomplish the following: • Support, configure, and develop our SharePoint and web services environment, which include CDA’s main intranet portal (currently SharePoint 2010) and external site (SharePoint 365). • Maintain and administer SharePoint services, including search, content hub and excel services. • Develop, configure and maintain document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections. • Manage end user accounts, permissions and access rights. • Support end users with all web collaboration issues whether SharePoint related or issues with other web collaboration applications.. • Develop training materials and provide training to users with varying levels of skills. • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with users, stakeholders, and customers. • Complete migration from SharePoint Server 2010 to SharePoint 365 • Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with SharePoint framework, sites, and information and integration into the CDA web presence.. • Enhance efficiency, functionality and/or performance of web-based collaboration tools including Sharepoint as necessary. • Generate website statistics, dashboards and reports as needed, using custom or packaged tools. • Develop and maintain user and technical manuals and guidelines. • Work with desktop support staff on deployment of necessary end user software. This position will work independently with minimal detailed supervision. It will collaborate with a Senior Sharepoint and Web Services developer to assure alignment with enterprise architecture and standards.
