*Job Title: Cognos Developer* *Location: El Segundo, CA* *Duration: 6 Months* *Extension Possible: Yes * *Desired Skills & Experience:* Mandatory: Cognos, Actuate, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Client-facing *Preferred:* Cable Industry skills *Job Duties (include but are not limited to):* · Work closely with BI development team to support and coordinate to perform Proof of Concept (POC). · Understand the existing Actuate reporting architecture and the functionality of the reports selected for the POC phase. · Prepare requirements specifications for the reports in-scope for POC. · Setup necessary Cognos development environment for EPS coordinating with BI development team. · Configure the new Cognos environment as per security requirements · Prepare / review functional and technical design for the reports · Build the reports in Cognos environment as per functional specifications · Unit Testing and System / Integration Testing of the reports · Support User Acceptance testing for the POC · Participate in presentation the POC to the Business Users · Participate in meetings, discussions and workshops in understanding functional and technical requirements and analyzing the existing Actuate reports · Review of functional and technical requirements. · Work with various project teams, subject matter experts in EPS and other IT areas to create a High Level Design/Architectural Framework for migration solution. · Cognos Integration with the EPS owned Application (EPS database, Java Custom Application, EPS Report Programs etc.) and EPS Servers. · Develop data migration approach and integration approach. · Prepare report specifications from the existing actuate reports · Design, develop and test the Cognos reports · Prepare / review functional and technical design for the reports · Build the reports in Cognos environment as per functional specifications · Unit Testing and System / Integration Testing of the reports · Setting up User security in the Cognos BI environment · Provide Support for Acceptance Testing · Provide Support for Production Deployment of the Cognos reports *Job Requirements:* · Bachelors or equivalent degree in a business, technical or related field is required · 5-6 years Development/Consulting or IT Development/ Consulting Experience · Understanding of core Business Intelligence (BI)/data warehousing technology: RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, Web, Client/ Server, and OLAP · Business Intelligence development experience and programming experience · Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and business requirements · Application knowledge of the following industries: Telecom, Cable & Wireless · Proven analytical and problem solving skills · Experience with implementation methodologies · Strong communication skills, both written and oral; Ability to build and deliver presentations to all levels of the business and effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable language · Ability to mentor and lead a team of consultants · Ability to work under minimal supervision · Effective oral, presentation, and written communication skills · Valid US visa and work authorization *Thanks & Regards* Fredrick Lawson [email protected] *TekisHub Consulting Services* 1000 N West Street, Suite 1200, Wilmington, Delaware, 19801 (D) 302 613 2500(106) (F) 617 830 0525 Under Bill s.1618 Title III passed by the 105th U.S. Congress this mail cannot be considered Spam as long as we include contact information and a remove link for removal from our mailing list.
