*Title: QA AnalystLocation: St Cloud, MN* *Duration: 6-12 Months Contract* *Need Locals Only* *Initially phone interview then face to face* The Software Quality Assurance Engineer II is a mid level position in which the engineer is primarily responsible for planning, creating and executing manual and automated software test activities as a member of an agile software development team. Employees in this position must understand the Software Development Life Cycle and develop an understanding of current products and technology in order to design and implement quality solutions to meet business needs in an agile team environment. Duties and Responsibilities: o Demonstrates the ability to apply quality assurance principles to moderately complex issues o Selects an appropriate testing approach/strategy and effectively communicates approach to project team. o Has ability to create and execute functional and non-functional tests with manual tests, standard and complex automated web tests, and standard and complex automated user interface tests, and performance tests. o Follows processes or procedures outlined for capturing data necessary for metrics reporting. Determines appropriate metrics that enable the team to understand and continuously improve their processes, techniques and technologies from a quality perspective o Knows and understands complexities of networks, operating systems, browsers, and databases o Takes ownership of test environments that replicate a production site o Provides successful generation and productive consideration of new ideas and application of new ideas to resolve existing problems o Provides decisions that are effective in addressing underlying problems and the impact of uncertainty and new information when making decisions can be effectively assessed o Proactively seeks out learning opportunities. o Understands how a change to a component affects the system as a whole o Decisions are made with due consideration to the interests of all relevant parties o Provides regular on-time completion of tasks, efficiency in the completion of work, and the ability to easily identify all outstanding work and the status of each work item o Understands industry-specific resource and process documents and industry standard processes and methodologies o Ability to communicate orally and in writing with a wide variety of personalities, effectively paraphrasing statements to ensure understanding and using the appropriate choice of words. Effectively facilitates sessions, ensuring success through preparedness and coordination o Collaborates effectively with team’s Product Owner and Scrum Master on issues and conflicts that impact time, cost, scope, quality, and risk o Fosters a collaborative working environment, developing trust among team members o Able to identify major tools in the marketplace and describe how they are used in any given situation. o Has basic understanding of relational database, stored procedures, database functions and SQL o Has basic understanding of web technology, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, file types. Ability to understand web protocols and web services. Basic ability to create web tests within Microsoft Visual Studio o Has basic programming experience in one of the following languages: C#/JAVA/ASP.NET (preferably C#) Job Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, BCIS or related fields • 4-5 years of experience in software application development or quality assurance, with hands-on exposure to design, coding and testing.
