*Position: Network Admin * *Location: New York City* *Duration: 1+ Year* *Client: Cognizant* *JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * *1. *Good knowledge of Cisco VOIP infrastructure, call manager etc. *2. *Good knowledge and troubleshooting of Cisco Wireless infrastructure. *3. *WAN implementation, troubleshooting experience. *4. *LAN implementation and troubleshooting. *5. *Knowledge and experience in configuring, troubleshooting switching concepts. *6. *Maintain, tune and patch systems for optimum performance and security. *7. *Ensure changes are planned and implemented in a sound low risk manner, without creating system outages. *8. *Provide support and maintenance for the network monitoring tools like SolarWinds *9. *To prepare and maintain key team support documents. *10. *Provide on-call support and participate in 24 x 7 roster rotation groups. *11. *Assist Service Management and Application teams in solving intermittent recurring problems. *12. *Provide solutions architecture advise (where qualified / experienced to do so). *13. *Provide Technical Project Management (where experience and asked to do so). *14. *Provide support for costing solutions (hardware, software, and implementation), where experienced and / or being coached in doing so. *15. *Escalate problems and concerns to your Team Leader and / or senior management *16. *Install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks. *17. *Install, configure, maintain network services, equipment and devices. *18. *Supports administration of servers and server clusters. *19. *Manages all system back-up and restore protocol. *20. *Plans and supports network and computing infrastructure. *21. *Perform troubleshooting analysis of servers, workstations and associated systems. *22. *Documents network problems and resolution for future reference. *23. *Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning. *24. *Requires a thorough knowledge of networking essentials. *25. *Oversee network security. *26. *Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience needed.
