This position involves being responsible for key areas of new product launches as well as support of the ongoing business. The role requires the engineer to take loose product requirements and lead the effort to deliver dependable, highly-scalable code used by millions of users at thousands of requests per second. Required Skills 5+ years of hands-on experience with J2EE (Servlets, Spring, Messaging) development. Knowledge of app server and GC tuning. 2+ years as a tech lead and solely responsible for finalizing requirements, choosing technologies, writing, test and deploying code. Demonstrated team leadership skills and a track record of owning what you create Solid SQL skills and experience with database and data model optimization, ideally in a high transaction SQL environment. Postgres experience, a plus. Passion for writing simple, well-documented, testable code with judicious use of data structures, algorithms and design patterns. Strong Linux skills and experience working with large scale distributed Linux applications. Strong operational knowledge and the ability to coordinate and support large, complex migrations on a running system with millions of active users.
