*Title* – Oracle Database Developer/Performance Analyst




*Definition*

The primary responsibility of the database developer/performance analyst is
to perform database application performance analysis and tuning of Oracle
forms based application and Oracle database, identify problems and implement
solutions, proactively identify expensive SQLs and other performance
bottlenecks. The candidate must essentially have recent and strong
experience in Oracle database (10g, 11g) and Oracle Forms/Reports (10g,
11g).

*Key Responsibilities*

·         Database application performance analysis and tuning. Closely
monitor performance; identify problems and implement solutions; ensure the
database is running at optimum speed and efficiency

·         Carry out analysis of performance reports and proactively identify
expensive SQLs and other performance bottlenecks

·         Carry out root cause analysis of Database/SQL performance problems
and recommend a solution for Production as well as Release environments

·         Analyze queries for problem resolution and performance
optimizations

·         Provide database design,  research and recommend optimal schema,
table and index design data integrity and maintainability; standardize
environment and improve efficiency

·         Develop application code using Oracle based SQL/PLSQL, packages,
triggers , stored procedures

·         Make recommendations on database design, application code, new
database features, coding techniques and system enhancements



*Required Skills: *

·         Minimum 6 years as database developer and/or DBA. Ideal candidate
should have the right blend of these two skills

·         Minimum 2 years as a Oracle DB Performance Analyst and/or SQL
Tuner

·         Extensive experience in tuning Oracle 9i/10g for high transaction,
large sized databases and applications

·         Extensive experience in optimization of Oracle SQL Queries, Oracle
PL/SQL

·         Strong experience in Oracle SQL performance tuning products and
utilities (TkProf, StatsPack, Oracle Enterprise Manager)

·         Experience in Oracle Diagnostic, Service Level Management and
Tuning Packs

·         Perform analysis, detects bottlenecks, and recommends solutions by
using database advisors, Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) and Automatic
Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM)

·         Thorough knowledge of Oracle Cost Based Optimizer and clear
understanding of Oracle architecture
