Title: *Telecom Tech I* Location: New York, NEW YORK Duration: 12 Months *Description * *General Duties* Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Assembles and mounts communications equipment, transmission and operator facilities such as data, mobile radio, carrier, microwave, video, digital and other general switching equipment. • Performs complex wiring operations including fanning, forming, dressing, splicing and cross connections. • Works from detailed engineering specifications, circuit sheets, schematic drawings, detail change sheets. • Performs circuit tests and clears troubles encountered in wiring or equipment. • Directs the efforts of other employees. • Keeps complete detailed written records of all work activity. • Moves and/or lifts up to 60 lbs. • Climbs ladders and works aloft using hand tools and test equipment. • May be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the Company. *Basic Qualifications* • Ability to understand and interpret telecom color code used in copper jacketed cable. • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record. • *Previous schooling in electrical or electronic field or previous experience. * • Possession of any technical license (Federal Communications Commission General-Radiotelephone License, CCNA, etc.). • Knowledge of AC-DC/Digital Theory / Basic Electronics. • Satisfactory performance rating in present job. • Satisfactory attendance/punctuality record in present job. • Must be available to work scheduled tours designated by the needs of the business.
