Location: Durham, NC Duration: 6+ months. Rate is up to 450/daily for an 8-10 hour day. *Mgrs Notes:* * Does NOT want a BO developer who wants to be a Admin. Must have at least 3+ years of BO Admin experience w/ at least 2+ years of user support. * They support over 6000 end users and 900 BO Report Developers. There are shift rotations. The Durham shifts are 9-6 and 12-9. * Have to be admin, strong user support, infrastructure support and server side admin experience. * *JOB DESCRIPTION Role overview* *(i.e. Mission)* Executive summary of the job’s core purpose. This position is for a regional Business Object Administrator, who will have responsibilities in three key areas: · Providing 2nd level application support for a global shared service based upon Business Objects Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and Desktop Intelligence on the Business Objects XI 3.1 platform. Support a customer base of 70 plus reporting projects for over 5,000 end-users. 1 2 Maintain, support, deploy and monitor a federated global standard Infoview intranet infrastructure regionally deployed on over 12 servers on the following platforms: · Windows 2003 Server R2 with IIS 1 Application Servers: Weblogic 9.X and IIS · 1 Infrastructure projects, such as upgrade, patches, server build-outs and hardware replacement. *Key Deliverables* *(i.e. Outcome)* *·* Providing 2nd level application support for a global shared service based upon Business Objects Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and Desktop Intelligence on the Business Objects XI 3.1 platform. Support a customer base of 70 plus reporting projects for over 5,000 end-users. 1 Support customer reporting applications built with the standard Web Intelligence portal as well as customer portals built with the WebI SDK (ASP and JSP). 2 Maintain, support, deploy and monitor a federated global standard Infoview intranet infrastructure regionally deployed on over 12 servers on the following platforms: · Windows 2003 Server R2 with IIS 1 Application Servers: Weblogic 9.X and IIS · Lead infrastructure projects, such as upgrade, patches, server build-outs and hardware replacement. 1 Provide centralized repository administration, security administration, and change management for the reporting project teams. 2 Work closely with product and engineering teams to: · define specifications for value added tools 1 define requirements for engineering of new releases 2 provide infrastructure consultancy for new SDK web applications. · Provide 24 x 5 on site support and on-call support during weekends. 1 Coordinate internal Business Objects support operations to: · distribute and assign internal support calls 1 execute change management tickets on-time and correctly 2 follow-up on escalated issues 3 support the internal 24x7 help desk 4 improve support efficiency · Maintain procedures and perform tests for Business Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery. 1 Document infrastructure deployments, support policies and procedures *Additional duties and responsibilities* Some shift work is required to support the global user base.
