Duration: 6 months+ Location: Cambridge, MA · Engineers from Exagrid, VCE, NetApp, Virtual Iron, Netezza, EMC, IBM, and Endeca would be home runs · Sea change or Cisco are ok as well Software that works on Systems is the Key, Storage is huge · Look for candidates who are local to EAST coast – since client would need in-person interview · Look for candidates who have done C++ development of storage solutions *Key characteristics we are seeking:* · Skilled in C++ · Experience building storage software, ideally intersecting with additional background in any of virtualized storage; VMware storage stack; VMware storage networking; Xen; Hyper-V; deduplication; flash; caching; server-side storage; thorough and careful performance studies; distributed file systems; distributed object stores. For candidates earlier in their careers, we look for general experience in systems, such as DB internals, high-performance computing, operating systems, etc. · A willingness to dive in and figure out what needs to be done along with a collaborative working style. No prima donnas please! · An approach to software engineering that values design work and review before coding and careful testing subsequently. · Prior start-up experience is a plus but not required.
