Job Title : SAS Developer with EBI Location : Birmingham, AL Duration : 3+ Months *Need Only USC & GC Only* The Consultant will assist Customer with evaluating and teaching the Customer how best to use and apply the SAS software (with focus on EBI and Portal functionality and integration of Customer-developed custom Portlets using SAS, Javascript, some jQuery, HTML and CSS), and with creating reports using Information Delivery Portal and portlets, Web Report Studio, Information Map Studio, OLAP Cube Studio, Visual Analytics, use of SAS Stored Processes, Enterprise Guide, SAS/ACCESS to DB2, ODS, DATA step, SQL and Macros. Services activities may include: 1. Leading or assisting with activities related to EBI usage definition, development, and/or implementation, including actions that may incorporate both reporting and distribution processes 2. Understanding the interrelation of EBI components and when to use one over the other, and be able to provide guidance, technical expertise, mentoring and knowledge transfer within the Customer user community in the proper use of these SAS components 3. Understanding Customer’s BI requests and translating them into actionable reports from acquiring relevant data, modifying data if needed, building the reports, outputting the reports, etc. 4. Utilizing Enterprise Guide and its functionality to create project flows which could include aspects of data access, manipulation, summarization, and report generation to a variety of output formats and channels, etc. 5. Using Information Map Studio and its functionality to map physical data to business elements. (As an example, creating various types of prompts, filters, data elements, etc.) 6. Using Web Report Studio and its functionality to create web reports. As an example, use filters and prompts created within information maps, provide report linking, modify report layouts, schedule reports to run automatically, etc.) 7. Using the Information Delivery Portal as means for users to view reports. Creating portlets and content to these newly created or pre-existing portlets, using SAS, Javascript, some jQuery, HTML and CSS 8. Creating various OLAP cubes using functionality of OLAP Cube Studio. As an example, creating various dimensions and hierarchies, drill-through, performance tuning, aggregations, member-level metrics, etc. 9. Creating and using Stored Processes for the creation of customized web output, to include: a. The ability to parse CSV or delimited flat files using SAS DATA step, advanced Macro’s and put statements to the ODS webout destination b. Leveraging and utilizing the creation and passing of parameters from one Stored Process to another via hyperlinks, listboxes, textboxes, etc. (The appropriate use of Macro coding, macro variables, and Macro functions to ensure correct parameter passing is applicable.) c. Utilize knowledge of Macro variables available to processes running under the stored process server. d. Leveraging the ability for creating session variables and passing parameters as macro variables for chaining Stored Processes e. Ability to know when to use canned SAS PROCs versus Macro / DATA step / PUT statements to produce desired output 10. Although a somewhat limited focus area, creating and modifying SAS BI Dashboards using available functionality. As an example, defining data sources, ranges, KPIs and the Dashboard 11. Be proficient in Base SAS programming (DATA step), SQL programming (i.e., use of SQL pass-through or PROC SQL), as well as the SAS Macro language for use in making code more efficient 12. Leveraging and utilizing SAS’ Output Delivery System (ODS) 13. Leveraging and utilizing SAS/ACCESS Interface to DB2 (limited usage) 14. As applicable, apply SAS 9.3 coding language elements such as ODS LAYOUT, PROC SGPlot, SGRender, SGPanel, ODS GRAPHICS TEMPLATE LANGUAGE, etc. 15. Leveraging any knowledge of healthcare Medicare data. The SAS Consultant will also: A. Possess the ability to perform Services with little direct supervision under tight deadlines as a self-starter; maintain excellent troubleshooting skills; be imaginative, inquisitive and a thought-leader with a self-motivating personality and a strong work ethic; be an effective technical writer able to document all work performed; and have a customer focused demeanor B. Have good oral and written communication skills *C.
