Responsible for developing and executing data migration between development, test, and production environments. Responsible for backup/restore procedures. Responsible for performance tuning of databases. Responsible for regular maintenance of production, test, and development databases. Perform upgrades and patches to database engine. Work with development staff on new database designs. Responsible for application required uptime of database engines. Testing of operating system upgrades with database engine. Work with developers to troubleshoot application problems. Responsible for writing and executing scripts streamline database operations and integration. Responsible for resolving issues with vendor support group. Qualifications: •In depth knowledge of the Oracle/My SQL/Informix/Postgres Databases. •In depth knowledge of relational database design and implementation. •In depth knowledge of 2 and 3-tier client/server architecture. •In depth knowledge of database design and design tools. •In depth knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, disk structures, and Storage Area Networks. ·In depth knowledge of scripting using Shell, Awk, Perl or similar scripting language. ·Experience in maintaining and monitoring large scale production environments Good communications skills. · Participation in full life cycle development including design, development, documentation, training, and on-going support. · Ability to work unsupervised on projects of medium duration. · Ability to produce results. · Ability to work with a development or implementation team.
